1987 Vw Golf Mk1 Gti Cabriolet 1.8
This Golf was purchased approx 4yrs ago requiring quite a bit of work, mainly front wings and roof. However, as with many projects once it had been sent to the bodyshop I got carried away and ended up having a total body restoration and full respray. It then had a complete new roof fitted including the headliner and all ancillary bits by one of the top Golf Cabriolet roof specialists.
Mechanical work done is massive including, new exhaust, new fuel filler neck, both fuel pumps, timing belt and pump, gearbox reconditioned, both front CV joints, front wheel bearings, new clutch, new radiator, new radiator fan and shroud, new clutch cable, coil overs on the front (to suit the wheels) crosshair headlights, full service including fuel filter, air filter, correct oil and spark plugs, new GTI grille badge, new front spoiler plus a load more that I will have forgot.
The wheels are brand new as are the tyres and have done approx 75 miles!
The car has covered 130k which is very low considering the age. The MAF works as it should as does the speedo and rev counter.
Interior is original, it does have a little bit of wear on the driver’s bolster but certainly not bad. The parcel shelf is complete with no retro speaker holes!
