EXTERIOR
Finished in gleaming black high gloss black, this 35-year-old pocket rocket looks magnificent against any new car. High quality GT Turbos are increasingly scarce, and so to find an exceptional unmolested example such as this is a real treat. Dry stored in a garage for the last 16 years this cosseted example is not to be missed.
INTERIOR
The interior presents in incredible timewarp condition, with everything looking and working exactly as it should. The delicate sports seats retain their original cloth, all in amazing order having never required a re-trim. The same can be said for the spotless carpets, door cards, and parcel shelf. Other commonly worn items such as the steering wheel and gear knob also present really well, and the switchgear operates without fault; the electric windows don’t drag, the heater fan is smooth and quiet, and the central locking key fob sill works perfectly.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The turbocharged 1.4 is as spritely as ever having always been correctly maintained at close mileage intervals. The engine has never required any rebuild work and still performs remarkably well. Despite covering very few miles over the last 16 years the car has been exercised regularly, MOT’d annually, and serviced as necessary. Since arriving with us the car has been fully inspected by our trusted classic car specialists for the new keeper’s peace of mind. It’s bone-dry underneath, and the advisory-free MOT is valid until October 2023
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The GT Turbo sits on its original 13-inch alloys, all in perfect condition having previously been fully refurbished to a very high standard. They are in a matching set of tyres in the correct 195 size with plenty of tread left. The brakes have also been checked and remain in fine operational condition, stopping the car quickly and in a straight line.
HISTORY FILE
This surely unrepeatable example was first registered in 1987. It had an engine change with the certificate from Renault at 80,000.
The accompanying paperwork is extensive and dates right back to when the car was new, fully verifying its mileage. Every single MOT certificate since 1987 is on file, as is the original Renault document pack with the service booklet and owner’s manuals still inside. Spare keys, an original sales brochure, a thick raft of invoices and various ownership documents complete the History File.
