This is one of my own personal cars that has been in my possession
for more than 3 years. A few years back it arrived in part exchange
against another Porsche from the owner of 6 years. The keeper prior to
him owning 8 years, the car shows 6 previous keepers, and they have all
loved it.
So why did I keep it so long? Well, few 35-year-old cars retain such a
depth of quality as this one, even fewer have been maintained as well
as this one has either.
The service records date back to when it was 3 years old, in addition
to every MOT issued from 1990 on, we even have the tax discs.
A glance at the MOT history will reveal that she has never failed an MOT.
Actually, only ever even receiving one advisory from 2009 on brake pipes
and a perished tyre, this is rare, and provides an inclining into
how complete the maintenance has been.
It’s an unspoiled example, it has original marks and areas that could be
improved, none of it pressing or detracting from the appeal.
Also, is the completeness of all the tools, manuals covers and associated
extras that are typically missing and expensive to source (these are listed
below).
And then the way it drives, agreed you can buy a more powerful 944, 163 bhp
is not a heady figure these days, though its plenty to make progress and
the engine has bags of character and on cam power. The handling is superb
thanks to having the correct offset alloy wheels and tyres on, again this
being a feature that is too often changed.
This Lux example is worth a serious look, you could spend a lot more money
and only get half the car.

This is among the last of the Lux models registered and a prime
candidate to keep as its ticks many boxes.
The car has been in regular use and has a mileage of 113,752 warranted
miles. The previous owner had it garaged, and I have always garaged it
never used it in the rain.
With prices appreciating steadily this is an opportunity for someone to
get on the ladder of ownership at a sensible price.

Interior features includes full electric pack with windows mirrors and
sunroof that also doubles up as a targa as it pulls out. Climate control,
CD player, central locking, and 4-way electric seats. Highly original with
spec as it left the factory. Note all the correct amber lenses and side
repeaters. All factory labels correct to the boot, b post, petrol flap,
under engine etc. The cabin is rather tidy and original, no splits in the
dash, super supportive sport seats all intact, steering wheel in excellent
condition, gear shift original and in good order, carpets clean and dry,
and nothing broken or missing. Boot carpet in good condition.
